Discover What Makes Water Pure

!±8± Discover What Makes Water Pure

Before anyone can answer that question, "What makes water pure?" he or she needs to learn how the questioner views the concept of water purity. Not everyone has the same expectations from water that is said to be "pure" water. In some situations, such as in a scientific laboratory, pure water should contain no traces of any other chemical.

Of course, most homeowners are not scientists, and most homeowners can afford to form a different answer to the question "What makes water pure?" Most homeowners feel confident about offering to those living in a home the sort of water that mimics the water found in a relatively pristine environment.

The water that one finds in the most pristine environment has a recognized mineral content. Some of those who have asked themselves "What makes water pure?" have developed ways to remove any of the dissolved minerals in water. The resulting filtration systems have produced pure water, but for just how long has that water remained pure?

When water looses its natural mineral content, it then gains the ability to interact with a range of organic and inorganic substances. Those who express surprise at the preceding statement have forgotten that water has provided man with a universal solvent. Even water vapor can dissolve particles.

The rain that falls to earth contains particles and minerals from the air. As water washes over the soil, it picks-up more chemical substances. The water that enters our streams and rivers can not be called pure water.

The human body can not suffer ill effects from the minerals in natural water. Today, however, most sources of water contain some harmful chemicals. Those chemicals come from fertilizers and from manufacturing facilities. Sometimes too, homeowners allow harmful chemicals to enter water run-off, and thus to become a dangerous part of the water system.

In addition, most municipalities look to certain chemicals as a way to remove micro-organisms from the water. Those chemicals kill the microbes, but they do not remove them from the water. When city residents drink water from the tap, they drink water that contains both dead microbes and the chemicals that killed them.

Faced with those facts, a homeowner has good reason to ask, "What makes water pure?" Some homeowners might even loose sleep while that question sounds again and again in their minds. Some of the troubled homeowners have thus chosen to act. They have decided to study the available systems for water purification.

Most of the homeowners who search for an effective way to purify a home's water supply have one primary goal-providing friends and family in the home with clean, pure, great-tasting water. An ever-widening circle of homeowners has chosen to use one particular filtration system.

Every year, one list gets longer and longer. That is the list of homeowners using carbon filters with ion exchange and micron filtration. Why are so many homeowners choosing to use that type of purification system?

Did those homeowners discover a hidden answer to this question: "What makes water pure?" No instead those homeowners have come to a realization. What do they now realize?

Those homeowners have come to realize that they do not want mineral free water. They want water that is free of harmful substances, but water that retains the chemicals from which the body can benefit. After careful study those homeowners have elected to make what they perceive to be the safest choice.

A Multi-Pure Aquadome Countertop Filter Better For the Environment Than Brita Aquaview Water Filter

!±8± A Multi-Pure Aquadome Countertop Filter Better For the Environment Than Brita Aquaview Water Filter

A lot has been said about the recently published result of analysis of two similar water filter systems by a group of researchers. The result showed that the Multi-Pure MPAD Aquadome countertop filter is safer on your wallet and on the environment than Brita Aquaview faucet mount water filter. The researchers believe the result is significant because the filter technologies of both filter systems are very similar, and the quality and characteristics of water being filtered are comparable.

Brita filter has been the favorite of those that need a simple and uncomplicated water filter system that makes water fit to drink. Those people may be disappointed at this result but for those already familiar with the quality of Multi-Pure water filter systems, it's a confirmation that their money was wisely spent.

Several assumptions were made in the research to arrive at the conclusion that the Multi-Pure MPAD will save money and save the environment better than the Brita Aquaview.

Some of those assumptions are:

·         the numbers of people in the household that will use the filter; the release of CO2 during production and transportation each filter system;

·         the type of technology use for the filter media;

·         the cost of production and retail prices;

·         the characteristics of water being filtered;

·         the location of the assembly facilities (Multi-Pure in California, Brita in an Asia country);

·         plus many other justifiable assumptions

In addition, the researchers also showed the tool that was used to calculate the estimated carbon footprint reductions based on the difference between distance from where each filter is manufactured and the point of use-your home or office. Multi-Pure wins decisively in this category because Brita is assembled too far away.

The conclusion is that the Multi-Pure MPAD is better for your wallet and the environment than Brita Aquaview.  The lesson from this study is that you need to compare other factors beside the cost and the brand name before you buy a water filter.  Brita and Multi-Pure have been in the filter business for a long time. Multi-Pure filter system may cost more than some filter brands, their filtration systems are NSF-certified but the overall cost will save you money-and save the environment.

Why Use a BRITA Water Filter?

!±8± Why Use a BRITA Water Filter?

While tap water is safe to drink, it can contain impurities that affect its quality. Temporary water hardness, chlorine, lead, aluminum, lindane (a pesticide) and other impurities are k now to alter the taste and appearance of water, which in turn, may affect food and drink.

The qualities of Brita water filter are its simplicity, the convenience and economy in effectively reducing impurities and improving the quality of tap water. The result is clearer, cleaner water that is ideal for hot and cold drinks and cooking.

The Brita 'Style' water filter jug offers 1.8L of soft, thirst quenching, clear filtered water that is impurities-free. This has a 30-day warranty. DealsDirect will replace your product if it is found to be either damaged, faulty or "dead on arrival" within 30 days from the date of dispatch. For assistance on warranties and product returns, you may visit the company's Customer Service Help Centre.

There are other reasons why BRITA has been among the leading experts in the field of water optimization. It's a family business that was founded in 1966 and has become two global companies which manufacture water filtration products for household and professional applications.

Brita filtration systems reduce chlorine (taste and odor). Brita filters also keep a healthy level of fluoride, a water additive that promotes strong teeth.

Most studies show that exposure to lead-contaminated water alone is not likely to elevate blood lead levels in most adults. But officials say children are particularly susceptible because their growing bodies more readily absorb lead and that lead poisoning can cause learning disabilities, behavioral problems, and, at very high levels, seizures, coma, and even death. For this reason, pregnant women, nursing mothers and children under the age of six should take every precaution to avoid lead exposure. Brita water filters can provide that.

Cheap Water Filters Choices

!±8± Cheap Water Filters Choices

If you have thought about getting a water filter but do not want the expensive costs associated with it all I have compiled a list of them and their average cost which may change your find.

Keep in mind the cost you are spending right now to buy bottled water whether it is from your local grocery store or wholesale food chain store can be expensive. If you purchase water on the go it is usually .00 per bottle and the case can run you anywhere form $.30 to $.40 per bottle depending on what kind of water you get.

Here are my recent price reviews from a local store:

There are some people who complain about the faucet mounted water filter because they have to go to the hardware store to install the models. This is not the case. You need to read the box. I bought two and brought them home and installed them in a matter of 15 minutes for one model to 5 minutes for the other without any extra tools needed.

Here are my reviews:

PUR - faucet mount water filter - average price - This comes in a variety of colors, including white, chrome which is brushed or stainless steel with plastic. Meaning it looks like stainless steel but is plastic underneath the color exterior. The water tasted good. I did have a problem with a leak where I connected the unit to the faucet but I found that same problem with many of these filters systems.

Brita - this one cost about

The Aquaview Brita runs a little more at

I found both about the same with taste and installation. After a little tweaking on my part neither model had any leak from the faucet.

I would get a water filter and fill my own bottles for on the go travel considering I would have the filter paid for in a short amount of time versus the bottled water i am buying.
